Blog, Just Blog!

Blogging regularly is a great way to promote your business and your expertise. It provides new, original content that can be picked up by search engines such as Google, Yahoo! and Bing.  A blog doesn’t have to be a novel; it simply needs to be a short piece that shows off what you know and what you think is interesting and helpful for potential customers to read. Here are a few easy tips for writing a blog and creating content that will add value to your web site and help you get found online.

  • Pick a topic you are familiar with and that pertains to your field of expertise. For instance if you are in the “Real Estate” business perhaps you would write about your favorite locations (and why) or maybe write about the best upgrades for curb appeal.
  • Have an opinion! Take note of recent news/current events, if there is a current event that relates to your line of business, blog about it.
  • Draw your readers in. Have an intelligent title and put the most interesting information first.
  • Keep it short and break it up. A huge bulky paragraph isn’t entertaining to read. Sometimes the easiest thing to do is just write your blog and then go back and break it into smaller paragraphs that you can rearrange.

Just remember this is to promote you and your business. Have fun and stick to what you know.
